Sending with Offline RelaySMS Mail (No setup required)

This page documents the Offline RelaySMS Mail flow. Use it when you need to send quickly during a shutdown, without saving platforms first.


This is the fastest way to get started. RelaySMS gives you an anonymous RelaySMS Mail address so you can send messages immediately over SMS.

Steps

1. Download the RelaySMS app from :

Technical Requirements

  • SMS capability Android smartphone
  • Android 6.0 and above

2. Go through the onboarding pages to understand how it works.

Click the Make app default button. This is optional, but setting RelaySMS as your default messaging app makes sending messages easier and also lets you send images.

3. Select a Routing Number:

  • Tap the 🌍 Routing numbers tab on the navigation bar.

  • Choose a routing number (this is the number that routes your offline message to the internet).

  • Alternatively, you can select a routing number from the list that appears after you tap Send.

Note: If you do not select one, the app assigns a default routing number for you.

4. Sending messages

  • Tap “Compose New Message”.

  • Fill in the required fields (recipient email and message).
  • Hit Send at the top right corner.
  • Confirm the routing number, and that's it (if RelaySMS is your default messaging app).

NB: If RelaySMS is not your default messaging app, you will be asked to choose one to send.

Your message is now on its way online, even without internet!

5. Receiving messages

  • Copy the entire sms message
  • Go to the app and click on the inbox tab

  • Paste the message in the text box
  • Click on decrypt
